"The Three Billy Goats Gruff" is a classic Norwegian fairytale about three goats who want to cross a bridge to reach a lush meadow on the other side. However, the bridge is guarded by a fearsome troll who threatens to eat anyone who tries to cross. The smallest goat, the first to attempt the crossing, convinces the troll to wait for his bigger brother, promising that he would make a more satisfying meal. The medium-sized goat does the same, suggesting the troll wait for the biggest brother. Finally, the largest goat crosses and, being much stronger, he butts the troll off the bridge, allowing all three goats to safely graze in the meadow.
